Al-Kharasha privacy policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026
Al-Kharasha is an analog clock and alarm for elderly users, made by FHMM Labs. This page explains how the app handles your data. In short: everything is stored and calculated on your phone, and we receive no data from you.
What we collect
Nothing. The app has no servers, needs no account or sign-up, and contains no ads, analytics or tracking. It does not request internet access.
Your location
The app needs your location only for prayer alarms, to calculate the adhan times in your city. This is calculated on your phone with the Umm al-Qura calendar, and your location is stored only on your phone.
- Location is read once, when you tap "Find my city". It is never tracked in the background.
- To show the name of your city, the app uses the address lookup service built into your phone's system (Google's on Android), which receives the coordinates under that company's policy. None of this reaches us.
- If you do not use prayer alarms, the app never asks for your location.
Alarms and ringing
Alarms are scheduled on your phone itself; they do not come from a server. When an alarm rings, the app shows a notification and a screen over the lock screen, and sets your phone's alarm volume to the level you chose, then puts it back when you stop it.
Speaking aloud
After you set an alarm, the app says when it will ring, using the text-to-speech engine installed on your phone, usually Speech Services by Google. The only sentence it reads is the alarm time. If the Arabic voice is downloaded on your phone, it is spoken without leaving the phone; otherwise the engine may use its online voice, and the sentence reaches Google under its policy. To avoid that, download the Arabic voice in your phone's text-to-speech settings.
The clock on your home screen
If you add the clock widget to your home screen, it shows the time and your next alarm to anyone who sees your screen.
What is stored on your phone
- Your alarms: their times, the prayer they follow, their days and their volume.
- Your location and city name, and the table of adhan times calculated from it.
- Your choice between Hindi and Arabic digits.
This data never leaves your phone and we cannot see it. If backup is turned on for your phone, the operating system may include it in your backup to your Google account, according to your settings and Google's policy.
Deleting your data
Deleting an alarm in the app removes it for good, and uninstalling the app deletes all of its data from your phone.
Children
The app collects no data from any user, including children.
Changes
If anything changes in how the app handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top. The FHMM Labs website itself is covered by the website's privacy policy.
