Natiq privacy policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026
Natiq is an Android app that says the caller's name in Arabic when your phone rings, made by FHMM Labs. This page explains how the app handles your data. In short: everything happens on your phone, and we receive no data from you.
What we collect
Nothing. The app has no servers, needs no account or sign-up, and contains no ads, analytics or tracking. It does not request internet access.
Permissions and why the app needs them
- Phone and call log: so the app knows an incoming call has started, receives the caller's number at that moment, and knows when you answer or the call ends so it stops speaking. The app does not read your list of past calls and does not store any number.
- Contacts: to look up the name for that number in the contacts on your phone and say it. The lookup happens on your phone; the name is not stored or sent anywhere.
Saying the name
The app uses the text-to-speech engine installed on your phone, usually Speech Services by Google. It picks the Arabic voice downloaded to your phone whenever one is available, so the name is spoken without leaving your phone. If no Arabic voice is downloaded, the engine may use its online voice, in which case the sentence (the caller's name) reaches Google under its policy. To avoid this, download the Arabic voice from your phone's text-to-speech settings.
Volume
While speaking, the app briefly lowers the ringtone and raises the media volume so the name is clear, then puts both back as they were. It says nothing when the phone is on silent or vibrate.
What is stored on your phone
One setting only: whether announcing is on or off. If backup is turned on for your phone, the operating system may include it in your backup to your Google account, according to your settings and Google's policy.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling the app deletes all of its data from your phone.
Children
The app collects no data from any user, including children.
Changes
If anything changes in how the app handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
